Harmony Day on 21 March asks every child to wear orange to school, and the note from the teacher usually arrives the week before. This collection gathers every orange piece we have in stock so you can sort a Harmony Day outfit in one order: the Harmony Orange tee for kids, orange and navy check shirts in toddler and kids sizes, an orange flanno, the orange eyelet top and shorts set for girls, an orange hi-vis tradie shirt and orange shorts for babies.

Harmony Day outfit ideas

Primary school: the Harmony Orange tee with school shorts or jeans is the simplest Harmony Day shirt and is worn again on casual days.
Preschool and daycare: the orange and navy check shirt or the orange flanno over a white tee, or the orange eyelet top and shorts set for girls.
Babies: orange coral shorts or the peachy florals top and shorts set, which read as orange in the class photo.
Dress-up days: the orange hi-vis tradie shirt doubles as a Harmony Day shirt and a book week or tradie dress-up costume.

What Harmony Day is about

Harmony Day, now part of Harmony Week, is celebrated across Australia on 21 March and marks cultural diversity and inclusiveness. Orange is the chosen colour because it represents social communication and freedom of ideas, so schools and childcare centres ask children to wear something orange, from a full outfit to a ribbon or a hat. Any of the pieces here is enough; a child does not need to be head-to-toe orange.

Sizes and ordering

The Harmony Orange tee runs through kids sizes, the check shirts and flanno cover toddler and kids sizes, and the sets and shorts cover babies and toddlers. Harmony Day searches start in early March, so order by the second week of March to be sure of delivery before the 21st. For other school and family events through the year, see our shop by occasion page, the kids Easter outfits collection that follows a few weeks later, and the full range of kids tops and boys t-shirts and polos.
