Christmas in Australia means a summer lunch, a hot church hall and a lot of photos, so our kids Christmas clothes are made for both. This is our complete festive edit: Christmas print dresses, bodysuits and shirts for the day itself, plus red, green and gold party dresses, linen shirts and bow ties for the carols, the end-of-year concert and the family photo. Every piece is in stock now, with sizes from newborn to 16 years, so brothers, sisters and cousins can be dressed to match.

Christmas clothes for every child

Dressing more than one child? Each age and gender has its own edit. Browse girls Christmas dresses and outfits for tutu dresses, sequins and festive prints, boys Christmas outfits and shirts for kookaburra prints, red polos and linen, and baby Christmas outfits for My First Christmas bodysuits, bibs and rompers. If you are after the printed novelty pieces only, see Kids Christmas Outfits.

Festive finishing touches: red, burgundy and emerald bow ties, gold hair clips, tartan bags and a gold lurex cardigan for the evening carols.

Christmas outfit ideas by occasion

Christmas Day lunch: a cotton Christmas dress or a kookaburra shirt with linen shorts keeps kids cool and still looks festive in the photos. Carols and the school concert: a red or green party dress with a gold cardigan, or a white linen shirt with a red bow tie. Family photos: pick one colour, usually red, green or white, and choose one piece in that colour for each child so the group shot comes together without matching outfits. Church on Christmas Eve: a sequin or lace dress for girls and a boys suit or blazer with a festive bow tie for boys.

Sizing and when to order

Christmas prints run from newborn to size 10 and the party dresses and boys shirts continue to size 16. Christmas searches start climbing in late October and most families order in November, so we recommend choosing early while every size is still available, then allowing time for delivery and a try-on before the day. Many of the party dresses and suits here are worn again for weddings, the Year 6 formal and Easter, so they are not single-use outfits.

More festive and occasion wear

For celebration dresses that are not Christmas-specific, see our Party Season collection and girls party dresses. Christmas also brings weddings and christenings: browse flower girl dresses and baby boy christening outfits, or see every celebration on our shop by occasion page. Keep an eye on this collection through November and December, when our Black Friday sale and Boxing Day sale add further markdowns to festive styles.
